Marlo has garnered press and accolades since she opened Sweet Revenge® in July 2008. In 2012, Marlo appeared on PBS Nightly Business Report and will be on The TODAY Show with Sara Haines in March. In 2011, Marlo was the April cover story of Entrepreneur magazine, profiling her innovative concept in “A Refined Taste”. She appeared for her second time on The TODAY Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda, and was also on MSN’s Business on Main, Fox & Friends, FoxBusiness.com and Fox 5. About.com awarded her wine bar “2011’s Best Cheap Date Spot in NYC”. She was a semi-finalist in Ernst & Young’s 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year program.
In 2010, Chase chose Marlo as the face of Ink, its small business credit card, for its national ad campaign which included tv, print, radio and online ads. The campaign ran heavily for over a year and the ads continue to run from time to time.
Her other appearances include Unique Eats, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, Martha Stewart, and BBC Tv. NY Daily News showcased her journey in “Cupcakes, Wine, Stardom”; Portfolio.com profiled Marlo in “Chasing Sweet Revenge®”, and she has been featured in Bon Appetit, New York Metro, A.M. New York, Subaru’s Drive Magazine, among others. Distinctions for her wine bar include: Time Out NY (TONY) Magazine’s Top 10 Blind Dates Spots in NYC, TONY’s Top 10 in the West Village, TONY’s 2009 Eat Out Award, TONY’s TONY’s Critic’s Pick, and New York Magazine’s Critic’s Pick.
Marlo launched her fashion line, Sweet Revenge® Apparel at the end of 2010. She is pursuing tv, publishing and other lifestyle brand extensions and is debuting her eau de parfum “Sweet Revenge For Her” in 1st quarter 2012. She is in development on a weekend education seminar for small business owners that will launch in 2012. She is a key note speaker for events and provides unique corporate team building experiences.
Marlo received her MBA from the University of Michigan and BS from Butler University.
